Certrec Offers NRC Docket File Retrieval of All Regulatory Correspondence and Documentation for Nuclear Licensees
Ft. Worth, TX (PRWEB) February 28, 2012 — Certrec, a leading provider of regulatory licensing and compliance solutions, is pleased to announce that it has the capability to retrieve docketed correspondence for NRC licensees through its acquisition of a collection of microfiche containing millions of pages of Nuclear Regulatory Commission docket files. The microfiche contains the complete historical (prior to ADAMS) docket file of every US nuclear power facility.
Known as the Public Legacy Library, the NRC collection contains hundreds of thousands of documents including correspondence, regulatory guidance and requirements, NUREGs, topical reports, safety evaluations, technical documents, and many others. The combination of the microfiche collection, the NRC ADAMS library for documents later than November 1999, and Certrec’s own electronic collection of documents makes it possible for Certrec to retrieve and restore your docket information as well as many other sets of NRC documents.
“NRC docket files began as hard copy documents in the early days of nuclear power. As a result, we find that some reactor licensees do not have electronic access to all of their docketed correspondence. This acquisition gives us the capability to digitize a licensee’s regulatory documentation for easy search and retrieval,” says Ted Enos, Certrec President. “We can now provide these documents quickly and inexpensively to our clients upon request, without being dependent on the NRC’s Public Document Room.”
Historically, access to early NRC documentation by regulatory compliance professionals has been limited to searching microfiche documents using a fee-based service through the NRC’s Public Document Room in Washington, DC. Certrec’s acquisition of the Public Reading Room Microfiche makes these documents available to Certrec’s OLC and other clients for regulatory research. Combined with the NRC ADAMS library for documents later than November 1999, and Certrec’s own electronic collection of documents, Certrec offers licensees one of the most complete sources of correspondence and other regulatory documents for a given licensee available.
