A licensed utility engineer, regulatory expert, and CEO of Certrec Corporation, Ted Enos has more than 30 years of direct nuclear utility operational and management experience. His areas of expertise include licensing, safety analysis, nuclear fuel, emergency planning, fire protection, environmental qualification, security, nuclear oversight, and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Enos participated in the initial licensing of two commercial nuclear units and two operating units. He trained personnel at more than 70 percent of U.S. utilities. His direct involvement with daily management and operations has given him a keen understanding of the complexities encountered by today's compliance managers. Formerly the principal spokesperson for Arkansas Light & Power to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Atomic Industrial Forum, Ted has firsthand experience with communicating and negotiating with NRC regulators. As such, Ted has been a tireless advocate for front-line compliance officers.
Understanding that field staff often lack the regulatory information, tools, and training needed to be successful, Ted developed the industry's first web-based regulatory research products—RECALL® , RECALL® Web, and RegSource® - to facilitate the research needs of the regulated nuclear industry.
The changing and broadening requirements of regulatory compliance led Ted and his team to develop the Office of Licensing and Compliance (OLC)—the industry's first end-to-end solution for NRC compliance. The OLC assists resource-constrained Compliance Managers with day-to-day compliance requirements through full audit and mitigation cycles. Recognizing the growing need for regulatory guidance in the electric utility industry with the onset of the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, Ted developed the Office of NERC Compliance (ONC) to support the electric utilities unfamiliar with the requirements, training, procedures, and systems needed to stay in compliance with regulatory agencies.
Ted, his family, and assorted pets and ranch animals reside in the Fort Worth area. As an Oklahoma Sooner, Ted enjoys winning.
